This is the home of the

7xz

Custom adapters wil be found here beginning in August 2007.

There is no place like home... and there is no place other than here that this will be offered until 2007.

This site is a production partner with www.xl1adapters.com They are the original designer of a simple adapter for the canon xl1. Initially used for their own productions they have now graduated to HD and film only. Because of this internal company position change they are offering for a limited time that adapters that they have been using, as well as a limited number or BRAND NEW adapters.

TThe 7xz is NOT a copy of the p s technik. We repsect the rights of international patent holders and have no intention of stealing their design. In fact, we endorse their design as being the ABSOLUTE BEST IN THE WORLD, PERIOD!

We ask you to consider the cost of your production- ie- actors fees, location fees, crew fees, meals, transportation, and all of the other incidentals. When taken into consideration the cost of renting the pro35 or the mini35 for a day become somewhat inconsequental.

The solution offered by xl1adapters is for longer shots. A 28mm lens has an angle of view more like a 50mm lens and so on down the line. This effect can be fine if you plan for it ahead of time and realize the limitations that this imposes. The up side is that neither the xl1 solution nor the p s technik device will leave you frustrated with dust specks that you only discover once you are in post production.

When you decide to make movies, consider your adapter as an important decision. They didn't teach you about these in film school because they weren't invented yet. Wonderful devices, but beware of the pitfalls of the knockoffs.

If you have a degree from a film school and would like to contribute to the education of the new video generation that is making movies at home please visit cinema101.com and consider becoming a moderator. They are looking for a knowedgeable team to consolidate some of the information found on the net into one easy to find location for the BEGINNING aspiring film maker.
